1 Of 2 Men Held In Marin County Campground Killing Arrested For Murder
DILLON BEACH (CBS SF) -- One of two men detained for questioning in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man at a Dillon Beach campground early Thursday morning has been arrested on suspicion of murder, a sheriff's lieutenant said.
Ken Neville, 56, of Dillon Beach was arrested Thursday for allegedly shooting and killing an acquaintance at the Lawson's Landing campground, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office. A 53-year-old man from Dillon Beach who was also detained for questioning has been released.
Deputies responded around 2:30 a.m. Thursday to reports of a verbal domestic disturbance at a trailer at the campground. While heading to the campground, deputies learned that someone had been shot by someone living in the trailer, according to sheriff's Lt. Jamie Scardina.
The 19-year-old man, who is also a Marin County resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Scardina said the man's name is being withheld until relatives are notified.
Investigators are still working to determine the circumstances surrounding the killing.
