1 Killed In Shooting Near Oakland Coliseum; 2nd Homicide In 1 Day
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Oakland police were investigating a homicide Tuesday night a few blocks from the Oakland Coliseum.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at 8:43 p.m. in the 6700 block of Leona Creek Drive.
One person was found there suffering from a gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene, Officer J. Kroushour said.
No one is in custody for the shooting. Police remained on the scene investigating Tuesday night.
The death marks Oakland's second homicide Tuesday.
A man was found shot to death shortly before noon Tuesday in a car parked on a freeway off-ramp in East Oakland, police said.
The 20-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, was discovered at 11:44 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Mountain Boulevard and Kuhnle Avenue, at the end of the Seminary Avenue off-ramp from westbound Interstate Highway 580, Officer Johnna Watson said.
She said police believe the man was shot elsewhere and driven to the location, where he was left in a car by the driver.
