1 Killed In Multi-Car Wreck On Highway 24 In Lafayette
LAFAYETTE (CBS SF) - A person has died in a multi-car accident that is blocking three lanes this morning on eastbound state Highway 24 in Lafayette, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
One fatality was reported after an accident involving as many as five vehicles was reported on the highway at 3:17 a.m. just east of Pleasant Hill Road near the Lafayette-Walnut Creek border, CHP Officer Peter Van Eckhardt said.
A Sig-alert was issued at 3:32 a.m. when three lanes were blocked. The alert was canceled at 5:16 a.m., according to the CHP.
It appears that the person who died was ejected from their vehicle and onto the roadway, Van Eckhardt said.
