New homeless respite center opens its doors Thursday

City leaders and other agencies were on hand as the front doors opened at the new Auburn Boulevard outreach and engagement center for the homeless. There are dorm rooms with mats and recliners for up to 50 people. The program service director says it is not meant to provide long-term housing or shelter. It opens to the public Thursday.
