Audit finds hundreds of rape kits still need to be tested in Sacramento
Before 2019, law enforcement agencies were not mandated to process all the rape kits. Sacramento police have tested all 973 kits that have come in since this law passed. But it still has just under 300 untested kits, some dating back to the 1980s.
