Everywhere Major League Baseball fans turned last week, a team was winning a game with a walk-off plate appearance. The Chicago White Sox won two games via the walk off last week, yet they also lost two games via the walk off. The Oakland Athletics won two straight games over the Tampa Bay Rays, and at the Coliseum, that means pies in the face for the player that just won the game. The St. Louis Cardinals won a big game against the Los Angeles Dodgers with a walk-off home run this week, too.

5 Things: All-Star Home Runs To Remember And A Giant Nightmare

Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton put on the kind of power display in the All-Star Home Run Derby baseball fans only have dreamed about, while San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Johnny Cueto didn't fare so well in the actual game itself. Coming out of the All-Star break, the Marlins used Stanton's momentum to win two of three against the St. Louis Cardinals over the weekend, while the Giants fell into a funk in San Diego, losing three straights to the Padres.

Last week, we saw history from a Chicago Cubs third baseman, while the Oakland Athletics demonstrated they're still the dominant Bay Area baseball franchise. Teams in Cleveland and Detroit put together big win streaks, while a San Diego Padres outfielder became a one-man show—and the Los Angeles Angels scored three touchdowns in Fenway Park.
