5 Things: A Week Of Walk-Off Wins In MLB

Everywhere Major League Baseball fans turned last week, a team was winning a game with a walk-off plate appearance. The Chicago White Sox won two games via the walk off last week, yet they also lost two games via the walk off. The Oakland Athletics won two straight games over the Tampa Bay Rays, and at the Coliseum, that means pies in the face for the player that just won the game. The St. Louis Cardinals won a big game against the Los Angeles Dodgers with a walk-off home run this week, too.

Fantasy Baseball Owners Must Anticipate Trade Deadline Deals

Now is the sneaky time for fantasy baseball owners to anticipate action at the Major League Baseball trade deadline coming up on July 31. If a team moves a star player, someone has to take that player's place in the lineup. There are statistics to be had there in such a vacancy, so if you can get the jump on a replacement now, your fantasy baseball team will be the better off for it. Likewise, if one of your star player's value takes a hit with a trade, you have to be ready to replace lost stats. Always keep an eye on the MLB trade deadline!
