Wesley Shermantine and Loren Herzog were both convicted in the murder of four people but are believed to be responsible for the deaths of as many as 25 people. Here are their known victims and several missing people who have been mentioned as possible victims.
KNOWN VICTIM: Chevy Wheeler
Chevy Wheeler disappeared from Stockton on Oct. 16, 1985.
KNOWN VICTIM: Cyndi Vanderheiden
Cyndi Vanderheiden disappeared from Clements on Nov. 14, 1998.
KNOWN VICTIM: Paul Cavanaugh
Paul Cavanagh found shot to death on Roberts Island on Nov. 27, 1984.
KNOWN VICTIM: Howard King
Howard King found shot to death on Roberts Island on Nov. 27, 1984.
MISSING: Hannah Zaccaglini, 15
Hannah Zaccaglini went missing on June 4, 1997 from McCloud, CA.
MISSING: Karen Knechtel Mero, 27
Karen Knechtel Mero went missing on Feb. 15, 1997 from McCloud, CA.
MISSING: Michaela Garecht, 9
Michaela Garecht was kidnapped on Nov. 19, 1988 from Hayward, CA.
MURDERED: Robin Armtrout, 24
Robin Armtrout's body was found near Linden in September of 1985.
MURDERED: Henry Howell, 41
Henry Howell was shot dead on Highway 88 near Hope Valley in September 1984.
MISSING: Theresa Ann Bier, 16
Theresa went missing on June 1, 1987 in Fresno.
MISSING: Sylvia Lourdes Standley, 31
Sylvia went missing June 3, 1086 in Modesto.
MISSING: Susan Robin Bender, 14
Susan went missing on April 25, 1985 in Modesto.
MISSING: Sherie Ann Graves, 32
Sherie went missing on May 1, 1988 in Modesto.

Ruth went missing on Aug. 19, 1982 in Modesto.
MISSING: Phillip Lloyd Cabot Martin, 47
Phillip went missing on Sept. 30, 1993 in Stockton.
MISSING: Kimberly Ann Billy,19
The remains of Kimberly Billy have been positively identified. They were found in a Linden well believed to be where the Speed Freak Killers, Wesley Shermantine and Loren Herzog, dumped some of the victims.
MISSING: JoAnn Hobson, 16
MURDERED: JoAnn went missing in 1988 in Manteca. Her remains found in a Linden well.
MURDERED: Hunter
Shermantine and Herzog boasted of killing a hunter in Utah In 1994.
MISSING: Gale Marie Marks, 18
Gale went missing Oct. 18, 1988 in Stockton.
MISSING: Christine Marie Sexton, 36
Christine went missing on April 17, 1989 in Turlock.
DEAD: Tracy Melton, 32
Tracy went missing in 1998 in Stockton. Her remains were found in 2002 but her family was just notified in 2012.
