KidsFirst Fundraiser

KidsFirst "Denim & Diamonds, Kickin' it Up for Kids" fundraiser was on Oct 28th at the Blue Goose in Loomis. Guest emcees, Placer County Undersheriff Ed Devon Bell and Pride Industries CEO Mike Ziegler, the very popular Terry Sheets Band, line dancing lessons, BBQ dinner, locally brewed beer, premium wines, best dressed and dance contests, no host bar, auction and much more. Established in 1989 as a private, non-profit organization, KidsFirst's mission is to end child abuse and neglect. "Ourvision is that all children live in a safe, healthy, and nurturing home. We are dedicated to helping families by providing them with the tools they need to cope with difficult life circumstances before they become overwhelming. With counseling and family resource centers in Auburn and Roseville, our programs target the most vulnerable children, families and neighborhoods. We strengthen families by Educating, Advocating and Changing Lives. Our programs include Wellness, Information and Referral and Education and Outreach."

UNITED WAY'S WOMEN IN PHILANTHROPY LUNCHEON

On Oct. 22nd at Arden Hills Country Club, Hundreds of women gathered to raise funds for United Way's programs for local foster youth. United Way's Women in Philanthropy brings local women together to help local foster youth. Women in Philanthropy members are first responders in raising funds for United Way to provide financial literacy courses and matched savings accounts designed specifically for foster youth.

The Black & White FUR BALL TO BENEFIT THE SACRAMENTO SPCA

The Sacramento SPCA's inaugural Black & White Fur Ball was held at the SPCA Campus on October 17. More than 600 guests enjoyed delicious food and beverages, spectacular entertainment, live and silent auctions, and the opportunity to tour the campus and mingle with adoptable animals. The Fur Ball raised funds to help the SPCA to care for more than 7,000 homeless animals. Fun was had by all!

San Juan Education Foundation "Evening with the STARS"

October 16th at Arden Hills Resort and Spa Country Club San Juan Education Foundation's annual Evening with the STARS event this year honored Tony nominated Broadway and Hollywood actress Kate Levering, Facebook Chief Technology Officer Alex Stamos, and Teichert COO Mary Rotelli while raising money for direct to teacher grants in Science, Technology, Arts, and Reading (STARS) for 40,000 K-12 students in SJUSD. Emcee Rob Stewart discussed with honorees the important role of family and community in their lives.

Oct 11, 2015, McClellan, CA Touch-a-Truck is an educational community event that provides children hands-on opportunities to see and touch the heavy machinery and meet the people who grow, harvest, produce and create the food we eat, and build, operate and protect the communities we live in.! Funds raised through Touch-a-Truck will benefit the Junior League of Sacramento (JLS) programs. JLS is an organization of women committed to promote volunteerism, develop the potential of women, and improve communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
