On Thursday, July 28, American Leadership Forum-Mountain Valley Chapter, hosted an exclusive All Access Reception, sponsored by Kaiser Permanente and Downey Brand, LLP, that welcomed two leaders in our region – Henry Li, General Manager/CEO of Sacramento Regional Transit District and Adam Steinhauer, Editor-in-Chief of Sacramento Business Journal. ALF's All Access Receptions engage the area's newest leaders, offering a chance to meet them first and identify ways to collaborate to further their leadership in the region.
Make-A-Wish of North California, Randle Communications, Waste Management with hundreds of volunteers and the community came together to help grant six-year-old Ethan's wish to be a garbage man. Riding in the Waste Management Truck, Nathan had the thrill to go to different areas downtown Sacramento with final stop at the State Capitol on April 26th. The community rallied behind this young boy, who was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at only 18-days old. He has been fascinated with garbage trucks since age two and one day hopes to drive his own!
The annual WIND fundraiser party was on July 22nd at the home of Gregory Scott. All proceeds were matched by Goodwill Industries International, Inc.. The Center focus is to provide programs that would offer tools and resources to teens and help them develop the necessary skills to break the cycle of homelessness.

On Sunday, June 26th, Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern California celebrated the region's culinary delights with the 7th Annual Red Shoe Crawl. Guests got in the spirit by wearing red shoes in honor of Ronald McDonald's trademark footwear. They spent the afternoon visiting up to 27 featured restaurants and wineries in downtown and midtown Sacramento. At each restaurant, attendees were able to sample featured small plates and festive libations reflective of that restaurant's specialty. After a full day of noshing, guests' final stop was the After Party at Mulvaney's B&L. All proceeds raised go to benefit the children and families of the Sacramento Ronald McDonald House and Camp Ronald McDonald at Eagle Lake.
