Positive Coaching Alliance's Jeans and Jerseys Youth Sports Awards

Sacramento chapter welcomed San Francisco 49ers legend and Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young to deliver the keynote address during the 2016 Jeans and Jerseys Youth Sports Awards on August 30th at the Crest Theatre, downtown, Sacramento. The annual event highlighting community members, coaches and athletes who exemplify Positive Coaching Alliances' BETTER ATHLETES, BETTER PEOPLE mission was held at the famed Crest Theatre in downtown Sacramento. The event will paid tribute to regional developer and Sacramento native Phil Oates of Buzz Oates, longtime Rocklin High School baseball coach Roc Murray and a number of amateur athletes.

Sacramento Railyards Grand Opening Celebration

"The new roads will complete the Central City circulation system by providing close connections to downtown Sacramento, Old Sacramento, the Sacramento riverfront, the River District, and the future site of the 244-acre Railyards urban infill mixed-use development." The ceremony was held on August 19th on the 5th Street Bridge and to celebrate the opening of 5th Street, 6th Street, and Railyards Boulevard. Event speakers included Congresswoman Doris Matsui, Councilmember Jeff Harris, City Manager John Shirey, Caltrans Director Malcolm Dougherty, and managing Partner of Downtown Railyard Venture Larry Kelley.
