The Pantsuit Nation Photo Shoot Sacramento started with just a few friends wanting to come together for a photo of them wearing their pantsuits in support of Sen. Hillary Clinton and in less than 24 hours it grew to over 250 people responding to a Facebook invite. The photo shoot became a meeting place for Sacramento to come together and celebrate casting their vote for the first woman president, wearing their pantsuits in support of Sen. Hillary Clinton as well as some attendees wearing all white in honor of the Suffragettes who fought for women's right to vote. We had over 100 women, men and kids show up on the West Steps of the Capitol to commemorate this historic day on November 8th.

On Friday, November 4th, Roberts Family Development Center celebrated 15 years of serving the community at The Grand on J street. It was clearly a morning dedicated to the children they serve with over 100 kids from local area schools opening the celebration with a wonderful song about strength and perseverance. Perseverance was the theme of the morning with keynote speaker Darrell Steinberg speaking about the vision Derrell and Tina had 15 years ago blossoming into what it is today. A preschool along with a multi site afterschool and summer camp operation with over 500 kids in attendances daily. Awards were given to community leaders Senator Holly Mitchell, Lynne Cannady, Dr. Marsha Mills, Tim Ray, the late Phil Schott and SMUD. The morning was complete with TV personality Mark S. Allen serving as the theatrical MC.

The more than 600 guests enjoyed hearing highlights from several local wish child stories, which demonstrated the power of a wish and the hope it brings to children battling life-threatening illnesses. Shylah, who battles lymphoma, wished to have a princess RV road trip for her and her family. Sponsored by chapter founder Frank Ramos, Shylah was surprised at the event with the RV fitted for a princess that will take her family down the coast and eventually to Disneyland next week.
