The MLK Celebration hosted its 18th annual event at Sacramento State University More than 500 + elected officials, judges, law enforcement, business leaders, clergy, nonprofits and students attended. Susan Savage, CEO of the Sacramento River Cats received the Robert T. Matsui Community Service Award. The Annual MLK Celebration symbolizes the principles of freedom and unity, and the celebration of diversity that highlighted the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The Sacramento Black Chamber of Commerce 32nd Annual Installation and Business Awards luncheon was on December 1st at the Hilton Arden Way. Business Awards: Lori Okamoto, Business Outreach & Engagement at SMUD and Larry Lee, Sacramento Observer The Sacramento Black Chamber of Commerce has, for more than thirty years, provided education and advocacy for the growth promotion of African American businesses in the Greater Sacramento area. Each year in December the Chamber celebrates with the business community at its annual Installation and Business Awards event. The annual Installation and Awards Banquet allows for the provision of programs and services that assist in bolstering the long-term economic strength for our small and micro member businesses.
