Sacramento Children's Home Business Luncheon

On Thursday, March 15th the Sacramento Children's Home held its Second Annual Business Luncheon at the Golden 1 Center. This year's Business Luncheon was a celebration of the partnership between the corporate community and the Sacramento Children's Home. The event included an impressive lineup of speakers including Mayor Darrell Steinberg, King's President of Business Operations John Rinehart, Greater Sacramento Economic Council CEO Barry Broome and SCH CEO Dr. David Baker. The Home also recognized the generous support of its Philanthropist of the Year, Marlene Oehler and three dedicated community partners, which included Kaiser Permanente, the Ticket to Dream Foundation and Wells Fargo.

The Sacramento Public Library Foundation presented the 16th annual fundraiser Authors on the Move "Read Beyond Your Fears" at the Hyatt Regency on March 10, 2018 This year's "Authors on the Move" brought together 40 plus distinguished California authors and their recently published books for an evening of literary delight with featured author and speaker, Sasha Abramsky.

Social Venture Partners Fast Pitch for Nonprofits

On March 8th at the Golden 1 Center, Social Venture Partners (SVP) held the 2018 Fast Pitch event that brought together over 800 individuals from the Greater Sacramento region to elevate 10 nonprofits and their stories. The event and program successfully raised $217,000 in cash and in-kind support for 12 nonprofits in the 2018 Fast Pitch program. The winners of the Fast Pitch competition awards were: The 1st place winner was Ashlie Bryant from 3Strands Global Foundation who won $15,000 The 2nd place winner was Mike Mason from KidsFirst who won $2,000 The 3rd place winner was Licia King from CCHAT Sacramento who won $1,000

On January 31st, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento hosted the 24TH Annual Hammy Awards Dinner at The Center at Twenty-Three Hundred.
