On May 3rd, West Sacramento Mayor, Christopher Cabaldon gave his annual State of the City Address. Community members got the chance to hear first-hand from the Mayor about the achievements West Sacramento has made, and the bright and innovative plans for the future of West Sacramento. In addition to the address; City Councilmembers had the honor of recognizing members of the community for civic leadership in the following categories. Make-A-Wish Wine & Wishes Fundraiser

Make-A-Wish® Northeastern California and Northern Nevada held their 31st Anniversary of Wine & Wishes on Saturday, April 28 at the Sacramento Convention Center. This year marks the 35 years of creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. At the event, more than 700 attendees experienced the power of a wish as they granted a wish to a local child on stage.

On April 26th, The Greater Sacramento Urban League Unity Ball was held at the Hyatt Regency, celebrating the 50th anniversary. The annual Unity Ball is a special event where community leaders come together to celebrate the Urban League's accomplishments and impact while raising critical funds to support the important programs that help underserved youth and adults achieve economic self-reliance. American Heart Association Sacramento Heart Ball

The 28th Annual Heart Ball- Life is Why was held on Saturday, April 21st at the home of the Sacramento Kings- Golden 1 Center! Chaired by Trish Rodriguez of Kaiser Permanente, and Vice-Chaired by John Rinehart of the Sacramento Kings this event is an annual fundraiser for the American Heart Association. Life is Why is the anthem of the American Heart Association, connecting everyone to its mission that we all have a reason to live a longer, heathier life! The evening included dinner, silent and live auction, dancing and more and honored local CPR survivor 13-year-old Delaney Conway. Unveiled that evening was Sacramento's first CPR Kiosk, sponsored by Clark Pacific. Now members of the community can learn Hands Only CPR at the Golden 1 Center!

The Association of Commercial Real Estate Broker of the Year Awards

On April 5th at the Hyatt Regency, The Association of Commercial Real Estate (ACRE), held the annual Broker of the Year Awards. The Association of Commercial Real Estate's Charity Benefit/Broker of the Year Awards originated in 1992. These distinguished awards are presented annually to brokers who have achieved outstanding brokerage results in eight categories: Industrial, Office, Retail, Investments (non-Apartment), Land, Multi-Family, Rookie of the Year, Broker of the Year and Broker's Choice. The Broker of the Year Award will be presented to the outstanding Broker that year. In addition to recognizing industry high achievers, the Charity Benefit Broker of the Year Awards has given many millions to local charities. This year's Charity recipient went to 3 Strands Global.
