Zimmerman Charged With Second-Degree Murder In Trayvon Martin Shooting
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Second-degree murder charges against George Zimmerman were filed Wednesday afternoon in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, CBS News reported.
The CBS News report comes after the Washington Post broke the news that Zimmerman, who shot Trayvon Martin, would be charged. State Attorney Angela Corey, who was appointed as a special prosecutor in the case, held an announcement about the charges at 6 p.m. ET in Jacksonville announcing the decision to charge Zimmerman, the Neighborhood Watch captain who shot the unarmed 17-year-old in February in what he called an act of self-defense.
