Yuba County Fire Grows To 100 Acres

SMARTSVILLE, Calif. (CBS13) -- Fire crews have contained most of the fast-moving brush fire in Yuba County that broke out Thursday afternoon and expect to remain at the scene throughout the night to finish mopping up the blaze.

Cal Fire said crews have contained 70 percent of the Yeager Fire, which quickly flared up to 100 acres near Beale Air Force Base after 4:00 p.m.

Air drops and ground crews kept the flames from damaging any structures in the rural area.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
