Yuba City Police On Lookout After Two Attempted Abductions
YUBA CITY (CBS13) — Two teenage girls in Yuba City say a man tried to lure them into his pickup truck.
Police say they are taking this case very seriously in light of the stabbing death of Leila Fowler in Calaveras County, and based on the fact the two girls who reported the incidents don't know each other.
Police say the first attempt was on April 24 on Melton Drive, where a 17-year-old girl walking to school says she heard a door slam. When she turned around, she saw a man running at her. She was able to outrun him, and the man got back in his truck and drove off.
The second was on Tuesday at North Walton Avenue when a 14-year-old walking home from school says she saw a man pull up and ask her to get him his truck. He drove after her when she refused. She ran several blocks to a Raley's parking lot to safety.
In both cases, the suspect was described as a man with spiky, balding hair driving an older white Chevy pickup.
