Yuba City Police Officer's, Wife's Vehicles Stolen From Driveway
YUBA CITY (CBS13) — A Yuba City police officer and his family were victimized twice after they had not one, but two cars stolen in one night.
Alisha Cole lives a busy life. With four young boys, she and her husband juggle a lot—going to work, taking the kids to school, dropping them off and picking them up from sports practice. They use their cars to do it all.
But now the family is stuck after both of the family's cars were stolen in one night.
"A family of six that's a big hit for us, it's upsetting, really upsetting," she said
The cars were parked in front of the house, but when the Cole family woke up on Tuesday morning to get ready for the day, they stepped out and noticed they were both gone.
Alisha's husband, an officer at the Yuba City Police Department, is stuck trying to get to work in an old car that had been broken down last year.
"I don't know how much longer that little car that smokes is going to make it back and forth," she said.
As for Alisha, she's resorted to walking the kids to school, or asking friends and neighbors for a ride.
"I guess when we have to go places I'll just have to figure something out," she said. "It's going to be really tough."
Ironically, her husband washed both the cars the night before, and she made sure both were locked before going to bed.
Whoever took their cars decided to leave the family boat. They unhooked it from her husband's truck and even grabbed a brick from the home the steady it.
