Woodland Manhunt Ends In Home Where Stabbing Happened
WOODLAND (CBS13) — A manhunt ended with the capture of a parolee suspected of stabbing his mother and stepfather in Woodland.
Swat teams fanned out looking through the neighborhood for Salvador Fierro, but the search ended where it began—at the family home.
Neighbors say this isn't the first time Fierro has harmed one of his family members.
"There is a history in the past of violence against the family," said Linda Jimenez.
Court records also show he was convicted in January 2010 of assaulting his mother and stepfather with a 10-inch knife.
This time, his stepfather was fighting for his life. Badly wounded, he staggered across the street to a neighbor's home for help.
Jiminez is a former nurse and knew exactly what to do, helping the stepfather hang on until an ambulance arrived. She may have saved his life.
Fierro's mother escaped to another neighbor's home. Both remain in the hospital tonight. meanwhile, Fierro is behind bars on attempted murder charges.
