Woodland Apartment Complex Intentionally Flooded By Vandals

WOODLAND (CBS13) – Several units of a Woodland apartment complex were flooded with water early Tuesday morning in what police say was an intentional act of vandalism.

Woodland Police and Fire departments were called to the Redwood Manor Apartment complex on Fifth Street at about 5:11 a.m. for reports of standing water in several of the ground floor units.

Fire fighters helped to remove one to two inches of water from the effected apartments while police investigated.

Officers soon discovered that someone had broken into two vacant ground level apartments, stuffed rags into the bathtub drains and turned on the water.

It's believed the water was running for several hours before it was noticed and reported to authorities.

The total damage cost has not yet been calculated.

Police have not released any suspect information but say they are actively investigating it as felony vandalism.

Anyone with any information that could help with the investigation should call the Woodland Police Department at (530) 666-2411.
