Shooting In Sacramento Leaves 1 Woman Dead; Another Woman Shot Nearby
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A woman who was shot Saturday morning in Sacramento has died.
The incident happened around 5:01 a.m. in the 2700 Block of Rio Linda Boulevard. Police say they received several calls reporting the sound of gunfire at an apartment complex. When they arrived at the complex, police found a woman in her 40's lying in a bedroom with a gunshot wound, according to a Sacramento Police Department statement.
The woman was taken to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Homicide detectives canvassed the area, but had not identified a suspect in the shooting.
A short time later, another was woman was found two blocks away with a gunshot wound. It's unknown if the two incidents are connected.
