Woman Robbed, Assaulted At Art Gallery
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- Authorities are searching for a suspect who allegedly robbed and sexually assaulted a woman at an art gallery Monday evening.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department says an employee was in the process of closing the Ventana Art Gallery at the Pavilions Shopping Center on the 2300 block of Fair Oaks Boulevard when an unidentified suspect forced her into a secluded area at gunpoint and assaulted her.
The suspect apparently pretended to be a customer and then brandished a firearm when other customers left at closing time.
No witnesses saw the assault, authorities said.
The suspect is described as a black male adult, about 5'9", and was wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue shorts. He may have driven off in a Volkswagon Jetta or another small vehicle.
No arrests have been made. The victim did not require hospitalization, according to authorities.
