Woman Killed In Stockton Bank Robbery Remembered As Loving, Caring Wife And Mother
STOCKTON (CBS13) — Family and friends are describing the woman caught in the crossfire of Wednesday's bank robbery and pursuit as a loving, caring wife, and a selfless person.
"She was everybody's helper," said family spokesman Michael Platt. "You could ask her to do something and it'd get done when she said she'd get it done."
A trustworthy person and friend, Misty Holt-Singh is being remembered by many for her generosity.
She made a stop at a Stockton Bank of the West on Wednesday, leaving her 12-year-old daughter in the car. Moments later, the madness unfolded. Her own daughter watched as her Misty was taken hostage and driven away.
Police would later reveal Misty was used as a human shield by one of the robbery suspects.
"She is taking it far better as a 12-year-old than I think most," Platt said.
He's known Misty since she was a child. He's been the family's attorney for years, but now he's their spokesman as the family mourns.
Friends took to social media to express their sadness.
One comment on Misty's Facebook page reads, "I am so traumatized right now by the fact that such a terrible thing can happen to such a wonderful person."
Another, "I was lucky to call her my friend. She was a big-hearted generous person."
Even her employer, Dr. Lester Low shared with the public what an outstanding person she was, posting this photo and message:
"She so was so full of life: always positive and caring. One of her favorite conversations here was how "amazing " her family was, her friends, and her work. We will truly miss her."
Platt says the Singh family is not thinking about how or why she is gone. At this point, they are concentrating on what's next and dealing with this sudden loss.
A memorial fund has been opened at the Bank of Stockton under the account number 1210054712.
