Woman Killed In Natomas Crash
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- A severe accident killed a woman and shut down a busy Natomas intersection Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
A white BMW travelling northbound on Truxel Road t-boned a green Oldsmobile while the second vehicle was making a turn onto Arena Boulevard.
An elderly woman who was driving the green sedan was rushed to the hospital, where she died from her injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was not seriously injured.
Sacramento Police Lt. Don Rehm said investigators are interviewing witnesses and checking traffic cameras to determine who had the right of way.
"Someone was in violation of the red light," Lt. Rehm said.
Northbound Truxel Road has been closed at Arena Boulevard until the investigation is complete.
