Woman Bystander Hit In Another Stockton Shooting

STOCKTON (CBS13) - A 55-year-old woman was walking down a Stockton street Wednesday when she was struck by bullet, police said.

The victim was waling on Ninth and Phelps streets in the Park District of the city. There was an exchange of gunfire

between a group of subjects in the area and subjects in blue GMC Yukon with chrome rims, police said.

One of the stray bullets struck the victim. She was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Wednesday's incident is the latest in a string of recent shootings in the city. Stockton already has 14 homicides this year. The city set a record for homicides in 2011 with 58.
