Woman Arrested In Citrus Heights After High-Speed Chase
CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) - A woman is in custody after allegedly trying to steal money from a change machine and leading police on a high-speed chase from Colfax to Citrus Heights.
Police say the incident began on Monday morning, when officers watching a video feed, saw two people trying to break into a change machine at a car wash facility. When police arrived, the man ran off; and the 35-year-old female suspect got into the car and drove away, reaching 100 mph.
Officers put down spike strips along westbound Interstate 80 near Greenback Lane; and managed to bring the car to a stop arrest the suspect. She has been booked into jail in Placer County.
Several other vehicles also ran over the strips, including a Placer County Sheriff's Department SUV
