Woman Accused Of Putting Tainted Bottles Of Juice In Starbucks Refrigerator Case
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - A woman in Northern California is facing attempted murder charges after she allegedly tried to sneak tainted bottles of orange juice inside a Starbucks.
San Jose police released additional details about the case on Tuesday. They say 50-year-old Ramineh Behbehanian fled when a customer alerted store staff that she saw Behbehanian remove two bottles of orange juice from her bag and place them in a refrigerated display case on Monday.
A store employee took down Behbehaian's license plate, and she was arrested at her home a short distance away on suspicion of attempted murder and poisoning.
Sgt. Jason Dwyer says firefighters determined that the bottles contained a mixture of orange juice and rubbing alcohol.
Police don't have a motive.
