What's A Basketball Fan To Do For A Whole Week?

The week long break until the beginning of the NBA Finals is great for players like LeBron James and Stephen Curry who need some relief from carrying their team all season.

It's good for guys like Klay Thompson and Kyrie Irving who are trying to get healthy before the biggest games of their young career.

But you know who it's not good for?

The Fans.

If you are a basketball fan, the last month and a half was spent flipping between ESPN and TNT to watch a playoff game on a nightly basis.

The NBA is going from basketball every single night, to nothing for an entire week.

It's completely understandable why there is such a large gap between the Conference Finals and the NBA Finals. The league needs to make sure they have enough days scheduled for the Conference Finals just in case either of the series go seven games.

But in a situation like this year, both Conference Finals finished rather quickly.

A four game sweep by the Cleveland Cavaliers over the Atlanta Hawks and a five game series win from Golden State Warriors over the Houston Rockets has created this week-long break in action.

On one hand, by having two short series, you know the Warriors and Cavaliers are for sure the two best teams in the NBA. On the other hand, you're going to have to sit through a week of people analyzing why the two teams are the best in the NBA.

And let's face it, that's both boring and redundant.

So what is a basketball fan to do for the week off?

Well, you can watch the redundancy of the conversation about "who's going to guard Curry and LeBron?"

Or, you can switch on over to another sport and watch two game sevens in the NHL Conference Finals.

The Tampa Bay Lightening and the New York Rangers finish off a hard fought Eastern Conference Finals on Friday at 5 p.m.

The Anaheim Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks have traded games throughout their series and you can expect game seven on Saturday to be just as intense as the rest.

Even if you're on the ship that claims the NBA Playoffs are better than the NHL Playoffs, just give the NHL games a try. Considering there's no basketball for the week, you have nothing to lose by giving hockey a go.

If hockey is just not going to happen for you, there is, of course, baseball.

It's just mid-season for MLB, but there are so many intriguing story lines for this week in baseball.

There's the Washington Nationals' slugger Bryce Harper who is having an absolutely ridiculous season hitting .331 with 18 home runs and 43 RBI in just 47 games played.

And don't forget about the Houston Astros, Minnesota Twins and New York Mets who are all playing far better than anyone expected. The young players on each of those teams has created an exciting style of baseball.

But if all of those just don't do it for you, there always the French Open...

Just kidding, tennis definitely won't do the trick.

If you're one of the people who just can't live without basketball for the next week, well, that's too bad. You're just going to have to deal with it.
