Wet Weather, Cooler Temperatures Ahead
After a dry and mild weekend in Northern California, major weather changes are on the way.
A wet storm spinning in the Pacific Ocean will move toward Sacramento in the next couple of days. On Monday we will see more clouds as the storm approaches, but the rain won't arrive until late in the evening.
By Tuesday, rain will spread throughout the valley, foothills and mountains. A quarter to three quarters of an inch of rain is possible in the valley, with up to two inches possible in the foothills.
The Sierra could see up to six inches of snow at elevations higher than 6,500 feet.
The rain will continue Wednesday, but things will start to slow by Thursday. The rest of the week will bring sunshine and warmer temperatures in the upper 60s.
