UPDATE: Missing 9-Year-Old West Sacramento Boy Found

WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- A 9-year-old West Sacramento boy who went missing from his elementary school has been found safe, according to police.

The boy was last seen at Bridgeway Lakes Elementary School on Tuesday afternoon at 1:50 p.m. and was found bu a resident shortly before 7 p.m.

Police believed the disappearance of Moses "Manny" Barbosa was suspicious because he never reported to detention and his clipboard was found in front of the school. His backpack was found in his classroom, police told CBS13.

A citizen saw the report on the news and called the police after she found him near Ramco and Southport Parkway a few miles away from the school, according to West Sacramento police Lt. Tod Sockman. He is now back home with his parents. He ran away because he was upset after being sent to detention, Sockman said.

Search teams conducted block-by-block searches, and a police helicopter was out searching and making announcements.
