Washington State Man Reported Missing In Lathrop
LATHROP (CBS13) -- A Washington state man attending a truck driving school in Lathrop has been missing for more than two weeks, authorities said Wednesday.
Lathrop Police Services is asking for the public's help in locating the whereabouts of 22-year-old Sukwinder Singh, who was last seen on De Lima Road in Lathrop at around 7 p.m. on Oct. 8.
Singh did not show up for class at Dasmesh Trucking School and has not been in contact with his family or friends. His family is concerned because they say it is out of the ordinary for Singh not to contact them for this period of time.
According to friend Joe Greswel, he checked into a boarding house for the driving school, dropped off his bags and walked across the street with a wad of cash to a gas station but never returned. His cellphone and credit card have not been used since his disappearance.
"He's always been a happy, good fellow, never had any trouble," Greswel said.
Lathrop detectives have been in contact with Washington State police to see if Singh had returned home, but friends and family have not heard from him.
"He's never done that before," Grewel said. "That's why we're thinking something bad happened to him."
Singh is described as being 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Lathrop Police Services at (209) 468-4400 or text a tip to "274637" and in the message area type SJSO, then the tip.
