Warm Weather Ending As Rain, Snow Set To Move In
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - The wonderful weekend is coming to a close with a cool and clear night on tap for Sacramento as rain is expected to move in for the beginning of the work week.
Monday will bring a bit more cloud cover to the region in advance of our next storm as mild temperatures in the mid-60s are expected for the Central Valley and 50s in the foothills and mountains.
Expect cooler temperatures Tuesday, with Sacramento dropping down to the mid 50s with plenty of cloud cover. Tuesday will also bring a big change as rain and snow will be developing early in the morning.
A half inch of rain is possible for the valley and up to a foot of snow could fall near elevations of about 3,000 feet. Low elevation snow could fall as low as 1,500 feet with this storm.
Grass Valley, Nevada City, Pollock Pines and other foothill locations could pick up a few inches of snow by Wednesday.
The storm will exit by Tuesday night with a slight chance of rain and snow lingering into Wednesday.
