Walmart In Elk Grove Robbed At Gunpoint
ELK GROVE (CBS13) - Police in Elk Grove are searching for a suspect who tried to rob a Walmart Tuesday morning.
Around 2 a.m. police received reports of an armed robber at the Walmart on the corner of Elk Grove Boulevard and Highway 99. The masked man reportedly walked through the front doors and went to the cash room where he pulled out a gun and demanded money from an employee. He took the money and left.
"It is surprising when someone comes in and gains access to a cash room and demands money from an employee while armed. So yes, very shocking," said Ofc. Chris Trim, an Elk Grove Police Department spokesperson.
The robber is described as a Black male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighs 225 pounds. He was wearing a white sweatshirt, gray shirt, black pants and brown shoes.
