Vigil Held For Tow Truck Driver Killed On Interstate 80
CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) - Friends and family held a candlelight vigil at Rusch Park in Citrus Heights on Saturday night for a tow truck driver killed in a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 80 earlier this week.
David Robinson Jr. was killed when the driver slammed into him along I-80 near Newcastle in Placer County on Tuesday.
Robinson was standing outside of his tow truck but wasn't attending to another vehicle when he was hit. The driver of the vehicle that hit him has not been found.
"We're hoping that the driver comes forward and we can get some answers to what happened that day," family friend Sue Martin said. "The family wants closure."
The California Highway Patrol is looking for a silver or light gray sedan with damage to the passenger-side windshield.
