VIDEO: Caltrans Crews Blow Up Boulder Near South Lake Tahoe
MEYERS (CBS13) – Caltrans crews blasted a boulder apart that was blocking the Old Meyers Grade.
Maintenance crews took some explosives and blasted the big rock apart on Thursday.
While the Old Meyers Grade has been closed to car traffic for some time, it is still a road that Caltrans can reopen as a bypass if Highway 50 is closed.
Caltrans now uses the road for training purposes.
