Victim Of South Sacramento Stabbing Speaks Out
SACRAMENTO (CBS 13) - A woman who was stabbed over the weekend in south Sacramento shared her horrifying story with CBS13 on Tuesday.
The young mother, who didn't want to be identified on camera for fear her attacker might see it, was picking up her fiancé at the 24-Hour Fitness on Florin Road when their date night turned into a nightmare.
A man reportedly jumped into the back seat of the woman's car and stabbed her.
"He put his arms around me and started punching me and stabbing me," she said. "To me it felt like he was punching me. I didn't realize he was stabbing until I saw blood everywhere."
This mother of two young children has a gash to her stomach and another deep cut to her arm that required surgery.
She spent hours with a sketch artist to come up with an image that she says looks just like her attacker, a short Asian man believed to be between 25 and 29 years old.
She said she feels "lucky to be alive" and fortunate that her children weren't in the car with her. They were at the grandparents for date night.
Still, she's baffled that someone would attack her for no apparent reason.
"I've never seen this person. I had my purse and my phone next to me, and he didn't take that, he didn't take my car , so I don't know what his motive was."
"I ran into the gym. That's when they called 911."
Investigators are checking surveillance cameras from the gym and nearby businesses for any clues. 24-Hour Fitness says it has added more security to the area since the stabbing.
