Bodies Found After Vehicle In Amber Alert Located

PLACERVILLE, Calif. (CBS13) – The bodies of a man and a young girl were found near the vehicle belonging to the subject of an AMBER Alert, according to authorities.

The FBI said Saturday that the green Toyota 4Runner sought in connection with the disappearance of Mourad "Moni" Samaan and his 2-year-old daughter, Madeline Samaan-Fay, was found in El Dorado County by an Sheriff's helicopter.

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Department said deputies established a crime scene in the area near Grizzly Flat Road and Consumnes Mine Road.

A man and a young girl were found dead inside the vehicle. The FBI did not immediately release the identities of the deceased persons, but the AMBER Alert has been cancelled.

The time and cause of death has not been released.

Authorities feared for the safety of the girl after Samaan went "electronically dark" soon after he was last seen with his daughter at a grocery store in Gold River on Sunday, with no way to track him through e-mail, banking, or cell phone usage.

FBI investigators said Friday that Samaan had been served with a notice that the girl's mother had been awarded full custody of the child on Saturday.
