Vandals Cause $8,100 In Damage To Placerville School

PLACERVILLE (CBS13) - Vandals targeted a Placerville school leaving behind thousands of dollars worth of damage.

Investigators say sometime over the past few days, the vandals trashed Herbert Green Middle School on Forni Road.

They damaged everything from door handles and light fixtures too drinking fountains and air conditioning units.

"I think it's messed up because this is where our kids you know are going to school, learning to become someone and it's just more money that we don't have around here, you know?" said Mike Ludwig, a Herbert Green Middle School graduate.

The vandalism happened while the school was closed for Spring Break.

Damage estimates are more than $8,100.
