Vallejo Mother Arrested For Child Cruelty
VALLEJO, Calif. (CBS13) – A Vallejo mother has now been arrested on felony cruelty to a child charges days after two others were arrested for allegedly abusing the same children, according to Vallejo Police.
Vallejo police arrested Paula Perez just days after her lover, Klella Jo Farris, 45, and Farris' son, Edward Kemp, were arrested for allegedly abusing Perez' 4-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son.
"The children had rope burns, bruises, lacerations, stitches," said Vallejo Police spokesman Sgt. Jeff Bassett. "She (Farris) used needle and thread to suture the injury and did not take the child to the hospital."
CBS13 spoke with Perez after Farris and Kemp were arrested, but before police took Perez into custody on Thursday evening. She said her kids were lying about the alleged abuse, but did acknowledge her lover used a common thread and needle to sew up a cut on her son's head.
"My partner, my girlfriend went to college to become a paramedic," said Perez. "She did a good job too. It's healing very well."

At the time, Perez was being investigated by police. She denied she did anything wrong to her children. However, she did tell CBS13 her method of discipline saying she would spray them with cold water if they told a lie. She would only stop when they confessed.
"I discipline my children. I don't abuse them," said Paula Perez. "Time out wasn't working. It's better than beating the hell out of them."
The two children are in protective custody.
Edward Kemp is facing charges for assault with a deadly weapon. Klella Farris is also facing charges for assault with a deadly and two counts of corporal punishment to a child causing injury.
