Vacaville School Shut Down After Mountain Lion Sighting
VACAVILLE (CBS13) -- Two mountain lion sightings prompted the lockdown of a Vacaville school Thursday afternoon.
Browns Valley Elementary went on lockdown around 9:30 a.m. after the animal was spotted in the residential area of Browns Valley and Ballandine. The lockdown was expected to be lifted around 1 p.m., according to school staff.
A man contacted the Vacaville Police Department with a picture of what he thought was a mountain lion. A second sighting was later reported. Department of Fish and Game wardens were called out and searched the area but didn't find the animal.
The search was expected to be called off about 5 p.m.
