Vacaville Mother Arrested After 3-Year-Old Daughter Found Wandering In 38 Degree Temps

VACAVILLE (CBS13) – A Vacaville who reported her 3-year-old daughter missing after she had left the toddler home alone to go shopping and drinking has been arrested, according to police.

Vacaville Police were first called to the 100 block of E. Hemlock Street at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday for a missing 3-year-old.

The girl's mother told police she had left the girl alone to go to the grocery store and to a friend's house.  When she returned, the girl was missing.

Officers found the little girl, barefoot and in her pajamas in the 100 block of West Street.  The temperatures was 38 degrees and it was drizzling outside.

Police say the mother had also been drinking alcohol.

The 3-year-old, along with her 4-year-old sister and 5-year-old brother were taken into protective custody.

The mother was arrested on charges of child endangerment and booked into the Solano County Jail.
