UPDATE: Roseville Man Reportedly Called 911 Before Bank Heist

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) — The Roseville man arrested Tuesday on suspicion of robbing a Wells Fargo Bank called 911 about 15 minutes prior to entering the bank to falsely report an emergency on the other side of town, according to police.

Ogan Gencer, 20, of Roseville is being held in the Placer County Jail on $50,000 bail on suspicion of robbery, burglary (entering a building with the intent to commit a felony) and making a false report of an emergency, police said.

Gencer allegedly entered the Wells Fargo at 8850 Sierra College Blvd. at about 10:10 a.m., gave a clerk a note demanding money and left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

An initial search of the area didn't turn up anything, but detectives followed up leads, including the bogus 911 call, and tracked down Gencer in Folsom, where he was arrested.
