UPDATE: Escaped Inmate Caught In Tracy
TRACY (CBS13/AP) — Authorities have captured an inmate who went missing from a minimum security prison in Tracy.
Raul Edgardo Lopez, 25, was discovered missing during Monday's 2:30 a.m. count at Tracy's Deuel Vocational Institution (DVI). He was assigned to the facility's dairy.
Lopez was spotted by a Tracy resident in downtown Tracy. Police arrived at 12:30 p.m. and took Lopez into custody without incident. He was taken back to DVI and placed in administrative segregation.
Lopez was serving a five-year sentence for second-degree robbery in Los Angeles County. He was scheduled to be released on parole in three years.
