Up To 15 Dead, More Than 160 Hurt In Texas Fertilizer Plant Explosion
WEST, Texas (CBS) - Rescue workers continue to dig though the debris after a Texas fertilizer plant exploded Wednesday evening, just north of Waco.
The explosion in the town of West killed between five and 15 people -- at least -- and left more than 160 others badly injured. The injury estimate is expected to grow.
West is a farming community about 20 miles north of Waco. The explosion shook the ground with the strength of a 2.1 magnitude earthquake and could be heard dozens of miles away. The blast damage many homes within a five-block radius.
