UC Davis Student Arrested Following Two Sexual Assaults On Campus
DAVIS (CBS13) – UC Davis police have arrested a student following two sexual assaults that took place on campus Tuesday night.
Police say they got reports of two sexual assaults on a bicycle path on campus about 8:30 p.m. The suspect also allegedly assaulted a police officer before running away.
Campus police issued an automated alert via text messaging and cell phone calls about two-and-a-half hours later.
Shortly after issuing the alerts, police arrested 26-year-old Robert Schaerges.
He is being held in the Yolo County Jail charged with two counts of sexual battery, one count of false imprisonment and one count of assaulting a peace officer.
UC Davis police are also investigating additional incidents in connection with the case.
