Rory or Rickie - Who Will You Choose?

With Golf's Second Major coming, DraftKings is giving you the opportunity to win some money. Well, a little more than just some. DraftKings comes in with their biggest fantasy golf challenge ever, a $2.5 million pool to be exact, with $1 million going to the winner! Participants are allotted $50,000 to select six golfers, with each golfer carrying a unique price tag that fits their worth. It's pretty much like drafting your own squad as a general manager of a team.

Scott Gramling and Marc Malusis teamed up to create their own team of six golfers for a chance to win the challenge. Obviously, with the better golfer comes a steeper price tag, so having more than one heavy hitter in your six might derail your odds at staying under the $50,000 salary cap. Gramling and Malusis were faced with the tough decision of choosing Rory McIlroy or Rickie Fowler.

Rory comes in with a price tag of $13,000, more than any other golfer, while Rickie is priced at $10,800. Both golfers would be solid bets at Chambers Bay, but head to head, the numbers start to separate the two. Fowler is the better putter, ranked sixth overall in the world. But McIlroy is the better driver, and a long course like Chambers Bay (7,700 yards) will play much more to that strength. McIlroy also dominates the short game and has a significant edge in the hardware, counting four majors to his name compared to Fowler's zero. Ultimately, Scott and Marc went with McIlroy as the top dog of their squad of six.

Be sure to tune in to the tournament, June 18-21, to see if picking Rory over Rickie was the right call. If you're interested in joining the DraftKings Millionaire Maker, head over to draftkings.com and fill out your team by the morning of Thursday, June 18.
