Police Investigating Mysterious Deaths Of Two Women Found In Sacramento Apartment

SOUTH SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police are investigating the mysterious deaths of two women whose bodies were found in a South Sacramento apartment overnight.

Firefighters and police were called to an apartment just before midnight at 26th Avenue just off Franklin Boulevard. The call was originally dispatched as a medical call.

Inside, fire crews found the bodies of two women, one in her 20s and one in her 50s.

Firefighters originally believed the women had died from carbon monoxide poisoning. A Hazardous Materials crew was called but found no elevated levels of carbon monoxide in the home.

At this point, detectives do not know how the women died. They are investigating several possibilities including suicide, homicide and still have not ruled out carbon monoxide poisoning.

The identities of the women have not been released.
