Two Men Found Dead At Manteca Farm A Murder-Suicide
MANTECA (CBS13) - The San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office has determined that two men found deceased early Tuesday at a Manteca farm was the result of a murder-suicide.
Investigators were called to the 13000 block of South Airport Way for a report of a possible homicide. According to detectives, they discovered several pieces of evidence, including a suicide note, indicating a murder-suicide.
The shooter was identified as Carlos Ernesto Manani, 38, of Manteca and the other man as Jorge Jaramillo, 32, of Stockton.
Initial information led investigators to believe that a firearm was involved due to a bullet casing discovered near the victims. Detectives have now determined that a gun was not involved.
They located a "Captive Bolt Pistol" that utilizes a cartridge similar to that used in a firearm. The blank cartridge within the Captive Bolt Pistol is used to propel a piston or bolt, which appears to be the cause of the trauma.
The investigation is continuing.
