Two Juveniles Arrested In Connection With School Burglary
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Two teenaged suspects are in custody for an apparent elementary school burglary and one of the suspect's arrest was captured on camera.
Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies responded to an alarm at Del Paso Manor Elementary school around 3:30 this morning.
They found two juveniles inside one of the classrooms. One suspect was taken into custody immediately, the other got away.
Deputies began searching the area and finally after more than an hour, a K9 officer sniffed out the suspect.
"He was actually very close to where a perimeter officer had stopped within 20 or 30 feet of his vehicle. And when the K9 officer approached with his dog, it flushed him out and he ran across El Camino here and he was taken down by the dog," explained Lt. Dean Johnson of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.
CBS13 cameras captured the arrest. You can hear the suspect complaining about the dog who had the suspect's arm in teeth. Officers then repeatedly tell the suspect not to move.
Deputies are not sure if anything was taken from the school.
